Children's House

Eligibility:

Age:
2.5 years to 4.5 years old

Timings: 9.00 am – 12.30 pm

What the program offers:

This program is designed to promote the holistic development of the child by offering increasingly challenging experiences in the Practical Life and Sensorial areas.

As the child’s interests grow, they are introduced to a broad range of subjects including English, Mathematics, Culture, Biology, Botany, Arts, and Music.

Our approach fosters both independence and social growth, as children are encouraged to work autonomously while also collaborating with peers to enhance their social skills. Concepts from various disciplines are introduced through scientifically designed materials that stimulate intellectual development. By engaging with these hands-on resources, children can see, touch, and explore, leading to a concrete understanding of fundamental concepts.

Elementary Ready

Eligibilty:

Age:
4.5 years to 6 years old
Timings:  9.00 am - 3:00 pm

What the program offers:

This program lays a strong foundation for enhancing the child’s problem-solving abilities, reasoning skills, and imagination. It builds upon the concepts the child has already learned, celebrating their growing capacity to understand, memorize, and think critically. Concepts learned through sensory experiences are now taken to an abstract level, further deepening their understanding.

In mathematics, the child is empowered to perform mental calculations independently, as their memory and cognitive abilities have been strengthened. In language, children not only read books but also develop the creative skills to write and illustrate their own stories, supported by a thorough analysis of grammar. A second language is also introduced, expanding their linguistic capabilities.

What began as an exploration of continents and oceans now broadens to encompass the vastness of the universe. This program effectively prepares the child for the transition into the elementary program or Grade 1, ensuring they are ready for the next phase of their educational journey.

How is Elementary at Nivriti Montessori different from Traditional Schools?

At Nivriti, we follow the AMI Montessori curriculum, which is holistic and emphasizes the interconnectedness of subjects.

Our approach nurtures the whole child—intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically—fostering curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning.

Key differentiators of the Nivriti Elementary experience include:

  1. Hands-On Learning

    • Knowledge is gained through hands-on experiences, trial and error, and discovery.

    • Students actively explore diverse subjects such as mathematics, science, literature, history, and geography through integrated and real-life applications.

  2. A Unique Learning Journey

    • We start with the foundations: the origin of the universe, the evolution of life, the story of humanity, and how language and numbers came into existence. These core ideas are woven into every subject, creating a cohesive understanding of the world.

  3. Real-Life Experiences

    • Activities like carpentry, sewing, knitting, cooking, and conducting experiments under a microscope are part of everyday learning.

    • Students step outside the classroom to buy supplies, study nature, and explore concepts like rainwater harvesting.

    • Research-based trips to libraries, planetariums, farms, and bird-watching excursions help expand their horizons.

  4. Enrichment Opportunities

    • Sports, yoga, music, and movement are integral to the curriculum, fostering well-rounded development.

  5. Encouraging Independence

    • As students grow proficient in reading and composition, they are encouraged to pursue topics that spark their imagination.

    • They conduct independent research, create reports and portfolios, and even teach their findings to peers through presentations.

  6. Cultivating Critical Thinking

    • Montessori materials and activities are designed to nurture logical reasoning, independent thought, and problem-solving skills.

    • The mantra of the second-plane child is: “Help me to think for myself.” At Nivriti, we challenge and support this developmental need, fostering a love for inquiry and discovery.
